Net Send to multiple operator

I would like to send the Alerts to multiple operators for my SQL Server. I waas wondering that is it possible to send it to multiple operator? No its not possible in the case of using NET SEND.
Instead approach email about job process intimation.|||In your Alert in the Response tab just check the multiple operators you want to net send.|||you can send to everyone in the domain by using an asterisk instead of the username or computername
but (i just tried) you cannot send to a global group.sql

Net Send notifications

Is it possible to specify multiple Net Send addresses when creating new
operator?
Is it possible to specify multiple Email addresses?
Thank you in advance for your help,
Leon ShargorodskyHi
Not sure about net send (in general I think this is now off by default
nowadays!)
I believe you can create an operator that has multiple email addresses or
alternatively you can specify multiple operators to notify.
You may find that a better solution (my preference!) is to create a
distribution list and create an operator for that.

Net send message

SQL Server 2000 SP3.
Is it possible to send a "net send" message to more than 1 operator in SQL
Server job Notifications ?. If not, is there a work-around ?.
We need to send a "Net Send" message when a job fails to more than 1
operator. How this can be possible ? I have defined multiple operators in
"SQL Server Agent--> Operators" but it is one or the other in the job's
Notifications.

Net Send is not an effective way to communicate/alert people. IMHO, it
shouldn't even have been included in the product. You'd be better off to send
an email. Or if you are monitoring your evenlogs, execute RAISERROR upon a
job failure to log an error in the app eventlog, and let your monitoring
system pick it up and alert you.

negative sign (unary operator) not displayed for numeric data types

I have a table with a field that has a numeric data type (15,2) and length of 9. The problem is that it won't display the actual negative sign for any values less than 0 when running a query. Any ideas? I've used Query Analyzer as well as Access.
Thanks.Huh?

DECLARE @.x decimal(15,4)
set @.x = -12345.1234
SELECT @.x|||Maybe this will help.

For instance, one customer in the table has values like this:

4380.00
4380.00
8760.00
4380.00
4380.00
23360.00
23360.00

but actually it should be:

4380.00
-4380.00
8760.00
-4380.00
-4380.00
23360.00
-23360.00

which nets to a total of 0. And if I change the query to a group query and perform a sum on this revenue field I will get 0 but if I do a normal select I'll get all positives. Sql server knows that some of the revenue is negative it just doesn't display the - sign infront of it.

Btw:

DECLARE @.x decimal(15,4)
set @.x = -12345.1234
SELECT @.x

works correctly.|||How are you viewing the data? I betcha it's a front end issue?

Or are yu seeing this in QA.

Read the huint sticky at the top of the board and post what it asks for|||"select [Value] from [YourTable] where [Value] < 0" returns what?|||I've gotten the same results using Access as the front end linking the sql server table and using Query Analzyer. I will take a look at that sticky.

If I run the same query with the < 0 criteria I will get values returned that look positive. I even copied and pasted the values into Excel and they still show up as positive values.

If I change the data type to float it works fine, but for some reason numeric data type won't display negative values.|||are you sure you aren't running this:

select abs(mycol) from mytable where mycol < 0

in any case I can't repro it:

declare @.t table (col decimal(15,2))
insert into @.t
select -12.11 union all select 234.33 union all select -44.444
select * from @.t

col
------------
-12.11
234.33
-44.44|||Sorry etaktaf, but unless you can provide us with some code for replicating this problem (create table, populate table, select results...), then I don't think we can help you any further.|||In other words post some examplkes as the hint link states

Need UPDATE query help

I have a table that now holds data about operator actions. The table is
updated each night from a .csv using DTS. The problem is that the rows do no
t
include all the columns I need. I need to caculate a column from two other
rows and add it to the first. For Example, I am trying to add "New Column":
User Encoder1 Encoder2 Action
"New Column"
John 30 26354 7
26398-26354=44
John 30 26354 2
John 30 26398 3
The Encoder1 positions will always be the same as well as the user names
between the three rows. This table is large and I am going to need to change
all of the rows in this table and all the rows that are added each night. Is
this possible? any suggestions would be appreciated
ThanksI will make some guesses about which rows you are manipulating there, but
something like this will work
UPDATE u
SET u.NewColum = A3.Encoder2 - A2.Encoder2
FROM User u
INNER JOIN User A3 ON u.User = A3.User
INNER JOIN User A2 ON u.User = A2.User
WHERE u.User = 'John' AND u.Action = 7 AND A3.Action = 3 AND A2.Action = 2
I am assumingthat for the row with Action 7 you are calculating from tows
with Action 3 and 2. If not, then modify as you se fit, but I think the
query gets you in the right direction. You just need to alias the calls to
the same table to get the various rows.

Please post DDL, so that people do not have to guess what the keys,
constraints, Declarative Referential Integrity, data types, etc. in
your schema are. Sample data is also a good idea, along with clear
specifications. It is very hard to debug code when you do not let us
see it.

Let's get back to the basics of an RDBMS. there is no sequential
access or ordering in an RDBMS, so "first", "next" and "last" are
totally meaningless. If you want an ordering, then you need to havs a
column that defines that ordering in a column.
CREATE TABLE Foobar
(user_name CHAR(15) NOT NULL
encoder1 INTEGER NOT NULL,
encoder2 INTEGER NOT NULL,
foobar_action INTEGER NOT NULL,
PRIMARY KEY ('? ));
Unfortunately, you did not tell how to do the calculation. Would you
like to try again with a usable spec?
